When it’s time to step up to serious work, the Bad Dog 7" HDII Flange Wheel brings big performance to big jobs. Engineered with 46 grit diamond on both the edge and face, this beast cuts and grinds steel, cast iron, concrete, tile, masonry, and more—all with a single wheel.
It features a built-in 5/8-11 flange, giving you a rock-solid connection that keeps the wheel balanced and steady at high RPMs. This isn’t just about convenience—it’s about control and safety. And with the ability to grind flush against surfaces, the 7" HDII Flange Wheel is ideal for prepping welds, smoothing slabs, and cutting deep with precision.
Unlike abrasive discs that wear out fast or explode under pressure, this wheel is built around a solid steel core, making it virtually unbreakable. That means less downtime, fewer replacements, and way more work per wheel. And just like every HDII in our lineup, it’s covered by our no-questions-asked Lifetime Guarantee.

When the job’s bigger, the tools better be badder. The 7" HDII Flange Wheel is made to take the heat—and dish it right back out.
Absolutely. The industry standard for grinders is as follows: Rotary Tools (i.e. Dremel TM) - 1/8" 3" Cut off tools and Die Grinder - 1/4" & 3/8” 4" Angle Grinder - 5/8" 4-1/2", 5”, 6", 7" Angle Grinder - 7/8" arbor flange for a 5/8" coarse arbor shaft At Bad Dog, we find that an HDII with a 7/8" arbor flange runs truest because it is a more precise fit. The 4-1/2" and 6" Flange wheel use the 5/8" Coarse thread which is standard on ALL grinders. Call us at 800.252.1330 if you have any questions.
Wood: It will shape wood well but burns when cutting. Glass: The HDII is too aggressive and leaves a jagged edge.

Sometimes when cutting softer metals like aluminum the HDII will "gum" up. If this happens to you, simply run your HDII through a concrete block and it will be as good as new.
As safe as they get! Cut-off wheels can be some of the most dangerous tools in a shop. We are not telling you that you don’t need to be wearing safety when using our wheel, however, the 46 diamond grit is embedded on a hard steel plate to ensure that the wheel will not fly apart on you.
